EMPIRE TRILOGY

In the late 21st Century, several meteorites collide with Earth. Nestled within them is an alien pathogen which transforms the planet into a wasteland of monstrous mutations. The plague spreads rapidly - devouring humans, animals, and plants alike in a frenzy of grotesque transformations. 
Only one barrier stops the flood of carnage and death: saltwater.

Years later, humanity’s surviving descendants live in smaller societies scattered across the islands and vessels of the Pacific Ocean. Many fear the virus was sent by a hostile alien race seeking to terraform Earth in preparation for their imminent arrival. 
Others believe the gods are punishing humanity for their disastrous hubris and sin. 
Only a small faction see a unique opportunity for salvation in the clusters of radioactive crystals found on the mainland… remnants of the original meteors which fell to Earth. The crystals offer a chance at a unique energy source, which could power an ark ship to help the remainder of the human race leave their dying planet.

But to secure any hope of escape, they will need to face the hungry horrors that dwell on the continents and revisit a lost land they haven’t touched in generations.
